“I Don’t Want to Get Bulky”

When I mention strength training to many of my clients they immediately say to me “I don’t want to get bulky.” Strength training is more than bulking up, it’s the best way to tone the body, boost metabolism, improve posture and improve balance.

Studies have shown that even one day a week has an affect with increasing strength. When your strength improves you feel better both physically and mentally.

Strength training can boost your metabolism up to 24 hours post workout. This allows the body to burn more fat efficiently, improves glucose metabolism thereby lowering your blood-glucose levels. Reduces rapid blood-glucose spikes which will also help with sugar cravings.

A stronger body helps take pressure off the joints, strengthens our core and glutes. That is helpful especially if you sit a lot during the course of the day. Sitting adds pressure in the low back, a total body strength training program will address those areas.
