Blog # 36 – Let’s Look at the Positives!

I was sitting on my balcony watching the hummingbirds, squirrels, rabbits, chipmunks, and all the other birds thinking to myself, pre-pandemic would I pay so much attention to all the nature around me? I always thought I did but, now that I think back, I really don’t think I did all that much.

It’s hard these days to stay positive with the pandemic in our midst. When I think how the stay at home changed my life overall, I believe it helped me.

Even though my services were still available via zoom for anyone who wanted to participate and stay active, I was able to slow down my entire life. I could sleep later in the morning and start the morning with my lovely wife. I actually slept better and longer which my body totally needed.

On a daily basis I was able to witness the baby squirrels leave the nest as well as our little baby robins. The baby rabbits are now pretty well full grown. As we walked in our area, we saw baby geese, ducks and turtles. All of which I would have missed if I hadn’t been home those 16 weeks.

I am a big believer in things happen for a reason. Maybe this all happened to bring us back to the basics and focus on what is truly important in our lives; health, family, friends, eating healthier foods prepared at home, being more active, getting more rest, de-stressing more! The simple things in life are truly what life is about. Wouldn’t you agree?
