Women and Heart Disease ❤️
It’s February and that means it’s Heart Month. Wear red on Friday’s for ‘Go Red for Women’ which is showing your support for women and Heart Disease.
Facts on Women & Heart Disease:
❤️ Number 1 killer of women; 1 in every 3 deaths is from heart disease which equates to approximately 1 woman dying every 3 minutes from Heart Disease.
❤️ Heart disease kills more women than men.
❤️ Kills more women than all cancers combined.
❤️ It can hit you at any age.
❤️ 64% of women who died suddenly from coronary heart disease had no previous symptoms.
❤️ Women’s symptoms are different than men’s:
Nausea/vomiting
Shortness of breath
Pain or discomfort in jaw and or upper back
Extreme fatigue
Dizziness or feeling lightheaded
If you’re having any of these symptoms get to the closest emergency room. If you are indeed having a heart attack time is crucial in getting to a hospital system.
How to help prevent heart disease:
Know your family history
Don’t smoke
Exercise
Keep blood pressure under control
Manage your blood sugar
Lower your cholesterol
Lose or manage your weight
Eat healthy
